We will need the names and maiden names of your parents and grandparents - if known. Also, where they were born, lived and any other information that might help get the research going. In short, we want to know what you already know.
For instance, a name such as Charles Smith would return thousands of results, so it helps enormously if we know that we're looking for a Charles Edward Smith born in Bromley, Kent circa 1826. The less time we spend eliminating erroneous leads, the more time we have to discover more of your ancestors.
